What is the application process and how long does it take?

The process of Ceramic Pro will take between 1-5 days depending on the condition of your paint, the size of the vehicle and the packages you select.

The 1st step is to wash and prep the vehicle. The 2nd step is to correct all the imperfections in the paint such as swirls and scratches.

Once the vehicle is properly prepped, a body shop safe prep solvent will be applied to the entire vehicle to get to bare paint.

At this stage the coating process will begin, and each panel of the vehicle will have Ceramic Pro applied, levelled, and stacked to achieve the package you have selected.

No!!! Ceramic Pro Products are the permanent replacement to wax and sealants.

You can throw those products in the trash!

Does this product require annual servicing?

Yes. To maintain your warranty, you need to attend an annual service.

This is to ensure the Ceramic Pro performs properly for the entire length of the warranty.

If an annual inspection is missed, the warranty defaults to the lesser package at the time of the missed annual inspection. i.e.

A Gold (5-7 years) warranty becomes a Silver (3-5 years) warranty when an annual service is missed.

I just had my vehicle coated with Ceramic Pro, how long till I can wash it?

You should wait 10-14 days before the 1st wash to allow the solvents to outgas and the coating to fully cure.

If you notice that your car gets water spots, bird droppings, tree sap etc. during these two weeks immediately remove it following our care instructions.

Keep in mind the coating is softer so work on the paint very gently.

Frequently asked questions about Ceramic Pro Marine

What exactly is Ceramic Pro Marine?

In technical terms, it’s a hydrophobic, nano-protective ceramic coating that bonds with the paint or gel coat and protects it from weather, dirt, dust, oxidation, rust, corrosion, water spots and other stains. In a nutshell, it’s like a liquid coating that sits on top of the paint or gel coat so nothing can get through it.

How is it different and better than wax?

It’s different in that it’s not a wax-based product (there’s no wax in it) and it’s better because it lasts a lot longer than any wax or polymer polish ever will. Wax looks great for the first few months, but it eventually degrades, which causes the gel coat or paint to start oxidizing again. If someone has their boat waxed every 12 months, it’s going to look glossy with water beading up for the first three months or so, but after that, it will start to look less glossy and more faded for the remaining months until it’s next detail.

With Ceramic Pro Marine, the boat always looks glossy! There’s no fading in between applications as long as you touch it up every year, which takes only a few hours of your time rather than the several hours or even days that it normally takes to cut and wax a boat all over again.

How long does it last?

One application of CP Marine typically lasts up to 2 or 3 years. At 3 years, all you need to do it re-apply (wipe on, wipe off) and that helps the Marine last another full year. Each year after that, simply re-apply one layer and it looks brand new for another whole year with a lot less work on your part. No more compounding the same boat year after year.

What surfaces can I coat with it?

Ceramic Pro products can be used on gel coat, painted surfaces, metal, glass, varnished wood, vinyl, teak decking, non-skid, outdrives, props, carpet and below the waterline (in place of bottom paint). Ceramic Pro offers specific products for each surface on a boat, such as Leather, Textile, Plastic and Rain. View our Products page to see the whole line of Ceramic Pro products for boats.

Is Ceramic Pro like that Poly Glow or Vertglass stuff?

No! Poly Glow is like a hard candy shell that sits on top of the paint or gel coat rather than bonding with it. It takes several coatings of it in order to do the job right and it starts to fade just like wax over time. It requires several reapplications each year, doesn’t last as long and can be difficult to work with. Ceramic Pro is nothing like those products!

What prep work do I need to do to the boat before applying it?

The same prep work you’d do before waxing a boat. You need to get the gel coat looking as good as possible by removing all oxidation, preferably using a variable speed buffer with rubbing compound. Once the gel coat looks “like new” again, you can then apply CP Marine. For other surfaces such as vinyl seats, glass windows, metal rails and varnished rails, the surface just needs to be clean.

What equipment do I need to apply it?

Even though Ceramic Pro coatings can be applied by hand to most surfaces (just wipe on), to coat larger boats or perform more precision applications, you’ll eventually want to invest in an air compressor with spray gun and infrared heat lamps (if you have an indoor space to work in).

Can I apply it on a boat outdoors or does it need to be indoors?

Yes, you can apply it outdoors as long as the conditions are good, which means no rain and no heavy wind
